By what upside down uses students and teacher-researcher do they adapt campus to their needs? Come and present your analysis in the context of Higher Education and Research led by Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France.
You must compose a multidisciplinary team to: investigate the indirect use and propose a creative vision of the campus of tomorrow.
Young graduates can also participate !
From the brainstorming in a room, to the football match on the roof of the gymnasium through the weekly meeting in the cafe on the corner ... you have been suitable to workspaces and living spaces that make up your campus a way that had not necessarily been planned.
You can also sketch the face of the campus tomorrow.
Here are some lines of thought among the many possible:
Your mission is to develop a reflection on the "campus upside down" in 3 steps:
|
Survey You will need it in a prime time to investigate the uses outside the scope of usual "Teaching-Research-Accommodation" and synthesize the results. |
|
Analysis In a second step you will analyze the changes in this upside down uses (new ways of working, communication, life, new technologies, new services) and the constraints they allow to overcome (distance, gain time, increase efficiency, taking into account the ecological / sustainable development aspect, etc ...) |
|
Proposals Finally, you offer a creative vision of the campus of the future, based on your previous analysis of the current situation.
|
Be creativeand share your ideas!
By the term "campus" we mean the buildings and the infrastructure of a university or a school. This term should be regarded broadly: it includes work spaces and places of life associated with the activity of teaching and research (students, teachers, researchers, administrative staff ...). You will also integrate into your thinking the campus made ??up of discrete spaces (the case of Paris universities), the types of links between the various entities of a particular campus will be part of your work.
By "upside down" we mean "non compliant" with the use defined in the design of the place. The exploitation of places that could be described as "neutral", will be included in the discussion (eg halls, passageways ...)
Prior to your study, you should conduct an inventory of discussions on the subject of the campus of tomorrow.
Examples
- A study launched by the Foundation for Scientific Cooperation Digiteo-Triangle of physics on the Saclay plateau (10,000 respondents)
- A reflection of the students of the Ecole Centrale de Paris on the Campus of Tomorrow
We are not expecting a repetition of these studies, but a personal and creative reflection about how you live your campus.
You will have the opportunity to inaugurate this seminar by presenting your thoughts to an audience of professionals. Your intervention will feed the exchanges organized into 4 panels:
Workspaces
- Physical and virtual places
- Impact of ICT on how to teach: changing links teacher / student, what types and locations of contacts? future of the lecture halls?
- Challenge of the future of libraries, digitizing books, works of graduation ?
Places to live
- Food and beverage, sports, cultural ...
- Housing (rooms, public areas ...)
Urban
-Issues of transportation and mobility: how did you rounded the structural barriers? what innovatives solutions have been developed to move? what are the displacement that have not been designed?
Links with the business world
-Interfaces between the students and the business world? From the free distribution of the Financial Times, to the organization by students of business forums, through the junior enterprise and other developed atypical business (homemade, private lessons, start-up project ...), how do you value-you your expertise, your ideas? How do you operate the potential of your campus?
For an incisive and innovative analysis of “upside down” uses that you have on your campus, we ask you to highlight the obstacles you had to overcome, and therefore changes to integrate into campus tomorrow.
Your team will be assessed on its ability to highlight the issues by a new and constructive perspective, issues that are already widely known by the professionals invited,
We do not expect from you a census purposes, or a list of anecdotes, but a reflection that shows the ingenuity of students to transform a given campus, in a place that resembles them.
