3D printing is a process which enables to produce a real object from a 3D file.
3D printing is achieved using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes. Additive manufacturing takes virtual blueprints from computer aided design (CAD) and "slices" them into digital cross-sections for the machine. The machine lays down successive layers of liquid, powder, paper or sheet material to build the model from a series of cross sections. These layers are joined and automatically fused to create the final shape.
Launched in September 2009, Sculpteo is a 3D printing company. An object is created from a 3D file : interior decoration, figurines, robots, miniatures, scale models...
Our community platform gives you access to 3D designers, allowing you to share models, upload your own 3D designs, and make them real thanks to 3D printing.
